Abstract:

Teachers' work motivation is an extremely important factor that directly affects their professional activities. This study aims to explore the work motivation of preschool teachers in Vietnam in general and examine the differences according to education levels, working experiences, and incomes. A quantitative, cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on a sample of 332 randomly selected preschool teachers. Data were collected through a questionnaire survey and processed using SPSS 26.0 statistical software. The results of the study showed that the general work motivation of preschool teachers is not high; their internal work motivation is stronger than external motivation but is also limited; there is a significant difference in work motivation between groups of teachers with different qualifications and different incomes, teachers with higher qualifications and higher incomes have stronger work motivation than other teachers. The results of this study not only contribute to filling the research gap on preschool teachers' work motivation and related factors but also suggest that teachers' work motivation should be further enhanced. Improving income and creating opportunities for advanced learning for preschool teachers are meaningful and practical solutions in enhancing their work motivation.
